"​I don’t think of myself as a political artist, however, I sometimes discover political themes in my work. This drawing was made in 2023 after I suddenly became visually impaired and started doing charcoal drawings of trees. I could see their silhouettes against the winter skies. When a logging operation began nearby I discovered another side of the life of trees and woods. Chaos can erupt at any moment in the natural or in our personal worlds, and indeed, in the social/political climate. As Bob Dylan recorded in a 1989 song “we live-in a political world.”
