"In these uncertain times I find myself increasingly attracted to the way nature exists wholly outside of our political constructs. I look at an old tree and think of all the human follies it has been witness to and outlived in its lifetime. Yet it quietly continues to carry out its purpose; giving, nurturing, sustaining. I lament the way our fast paced society and political aims turn us away from the very things that give us life and I strive to make work that focuses attention on that which endures despite the odds."
