Nina McGee has lived in Roanoke for 21 years and pursued art all her life. She's been in many shows and has won various awards ranging from Best in Show at Virginia Western Community College to Best in Show and People's Choice at Bath County Art Show. You may encounter her work throughout the community, for example at the Shenandoah Club. McGee was lucky enough to grow up in the country outside of Lexington where she was surrounded by mountains and could observe the constant change in color and shadow that nature provides. Painting has always been a refuge and passion for Nina. Her artistic practice has become the yardstick she uses to measure her personal growth. Whether hiking or biking, she enjoys being able to stop and embrace all that is around her. She loves bringing every detail, big and small, into the studio.
