​"Rain Fragmentation is both a celebration of spring and a documentation of our ever-changing landscape living through the progressive stages of climate change. The work asks the audience to reflect on what happens when the earth, what has held us and carried us our entire lives, closes itself off to us after decades of our overconsumption and exploitation. While these issues are happening on a global scale, I want to draw attention to climate injustice on the local level, specifically the pollution and destruction we are witnessing in our own communities via the Radford Army Ammunition Plant and the Mountain Valley Pipeline. Additionally, Rain Fragmentation is a hopeful meditation on communion with the natural world, and a reminder to savor each season with the knowledge it never happens the same way twice."
